Police tasks require effective cooperation across a wide range of individuals and groups. Management instruments, but also management processes, play an important role in this process which enables individuals to cope with complex situations. The Faculty of Security conducts research on the following topics, which include among others:

Management tools are made use of in simulated and real missions to evaluate efficiency and adaptability in their respective contexts. In particular, new scientific findings from leadership research are to be incorporated into police work.

The term "security" is to be understood as a management process in which various processes have to be defined and shaped: from the description of objectives to be fulfilled to the planning of future events and specific decisions to the realisation and control of situations. Each of these aspects is indispensable for the successful accomplishment of missions and is thus researched and evaluated.
