The development and optimisation of food and related production process steps play a central role in teaching and research at the FH Wiener Neustadt. This includes all aspects of the value chain that have a direct or indirect impact on the product, its properties or the production process.
In addition to the development of new products and the optimisation of existing products and processes, the utilisation of by-products from food production and the development of food for special target groups are the main objectives of our research.
Companies can be supported in the following areas: Customised food products are developed, processes are optimised, competitor products are analysed and storage tests and analyses of product properties are carried out. In particular, the chemical, physical, microbiological and sensory properties of food items are investigated.
There are ongoing collaborations with numerous Austrian research institutions, colleges, universities, commercial enterprises, relevant associations and public institutions in the field of food technology, food sensor technology and product development.
