Aerospace Open Lecture: Morphing Wings

This lecture explores which aircraft missions truly benefit from morphing wings and when simpler flap systems can achieve comparable aerodynamic performance. It presents a sailplane wing concept combining a compliant morphing leading edge with a conventional trailing-edge flap, alongside its aerodynamic design, structural synthesis, and practical implementation challenges.
