Main costs of your studies

The University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt finances your place at our establishment by collecting a tuition fee. In addition to the tuition fees, all students are required to pay fees to the student union.

Current fees

• Tuition fees per semester: EUR 363.36
• Student union fee per semester: EUR 25.20 (2025/26), EUR 26.20 (2026/27)

Fees for nationals of third countries *

For students from third countries (all countries except those belonging to the EEA and Switzerland) who hold a student residence permit and who are not covered by the Persons Groups Ordinance or do not hold another type of permanent residence permit, the following regulations apply:

study year 2026/27

• Tuition fees per semester: EUR 850.00 (1st semester EUR 1,100.00 minus EUR 250.00 deposit; EUR 850.00 from 2nd semester onwards)
• Deposit for document verification: EUR 250.00
• Student union fee per semester: EUR 26.20

Exemptions from the Third-Country Regulation

According to the Persons Groups Ordinance (Persons Groups Ordinance 2018 – PersGV 2018), the following persons are exempt:

• Persons who enjoy privileges and immunities in Austria
• Foreign journalists accredited in Austria
• Persons who have had their main residence in Austria for at least five consecutive years
  
• Persons receiving a scholarship based on international treaty provisions
• Holders of school-leaving certificates from Austrian schools abroad
• Persons holding a valid residence permit for refugees

Further exemptions include:

• Holders of a valid Austrian permanent residence permit
• Holders of a valid permanent residence permit for the European Union
• Holders of a valid Red-White-Red card
• Holders of a valid residence permit “Family Member”

Additional costs

• Costs of course materials such as lecture notes, books, stationery, etc.
  
• Accommodation costs – accommodation in the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt’s hall of residence costs EUR 200.00 to EUR 300.00 per month, depending on the room you choose.
• Costs of living
• Travel costs for arrival
• Costs of technical equipment, e.g. a laptop

As a student at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt you are (under certain conditions) entitled to grants, support and scholarships.
