International Office
ATTENTION: You would like to complete an entire degree at FHWN? In this case, the International Office is not the responsible contact! Please contact the study administration of the respective study programme or the international admissions team (martina.warnung@fhwn.ac.at)! The international Office is only responsible for temporary stays at FHWN (f.ex. exchange semester).
International Office
The International Office coordinates all international relations within the framework of the worldwide partner university network. In implementing the Erasmus+ programme, we as a university respect the EU values of human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities, in full compliance with the values and rights enshrined in the EU Treaties and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.
We offer support in the following areas:
Erasmus+
The EU programme Erasmus+ supports students and staff in undertaking study or training periods abroad within Europe – and, on project basis, also outside Europe – by providing financial and organisational assistance. Our institution holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021–2027 (ECHE). The corresponding ECHE Guidelines can be found on the website of the European Commission. In addition, our institution publishes the Erasmus+ Policy Statement as an integral part of its internationalisation strategy. The rights and obligations of Erasmus+ mobility participants (students and recent graduates) are set out in the Erasmus+ Student Charter.
Student Mobility
We support 200 incoming and outgoing students per year at bachelor and master level and advise them individually in all matters concerning semesters abroad, internships abroad, Erasmus+ and Summer School.
Staff Mobility
We encourage our university staff to take up teaching opportunities at partner universities and avail themselves of mobility for further education purposes at our partner universities as part of the Erasmus+ programme. At the same time, international teachers and researchers enrich the learning opportunities for our students and open up new perspectives through mutual exchange.
Blended intensive programs
We provide advice and support in the organization and implementation of blended intensive programs (BIP). Within the framework of a BIP, students and/or university staff complete a short physical group mobility combined with a virtual phase. At least three higher education institutions with an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) from at least three programme countries have to be involved in the creation and organization of a BIP.
Buddy Network
Each semester we welcome approximately 40 - 50 guest students from our partner universities at our University of Applied Sciences. In order to guarantee a smooth start at our university and in Wiener Neustadt, our regular students (buddies) support the International Office by taking care of our incomings on a voluntary basis. We look forward to your registration as a buddy at fhwnio@fhwn.ac.at.
