Electrical Engineering v2

Department of Electrical Engineering

In addition to teaching the electrotechnical and electronic fields of knowledge, the Department of Electrical Engineering focuses on the development and simulation of metrological (PC, µC, FPGA, ASIC) and control systems, as well as analog and digital circuits.

Another focus is on micro and nano system technology, where we concentrate on work in the fields of microelectronics and microsensor technology, biomedical technology and quantum sensor technology.

Students are directly involved in ongoing research projects, which ensures that they receive up-to-date teaching on state-of-the-art technology.

Teaching

The Department of Electrical Engineering is responsible for teaching electrical engineering subjects in the bachelor's degree programme in Business Engineering (full-time and extra-occupational), the bachelor's and master's degree programmes in Mechatronics, the bachelor's degree programme in Robotics and the master's degree programme in MedTech.

The courses cover the following fields:

  • Basics of electrical engineering & electronics
  • Metrological & control technology
  • Optics & optical metrology
  • Micro & nano technology
  • µController & embedded systems
  • Design & simulation of analog and digital circuits
  • Materials & manufacturing processes
  • Multiphysics simulation
  • Drive technology
